Eastside Locks encompasses a number of significant phases of development as part of the overall delivery of the masterplan. The at-a-glance timeline below gives you more information about the key stages between November 2014 and Autumn 2017 – with the estimated completion date coming in 2026.

    Phase 2 infrastructure and Pound Square completes

    Alumno Student residences completes

  • Summer 2019

    8 Cardigan street completes

    Arrival Square construction starts on site

Belmont Works

A Grade A locally listed red brick and terracotta Victorian factory built at the end of the 19th century, Belmont Works has, in its time, served as the headquarters of the Eccles Rubber and Cycle Company and, from the 1960s, the Co-operative Society had offices there. Now begins an exciting new chapter in the building's history, with 21,248 sq ft (net) arranged over lower ground, ground, first and second floors.

Situated immediately north of 6 Cardigan Street, 8 Cardigan Street extends the amount of high quality Grade A office accommodation at Eastside Locks by a further 83,571 sq ft.

Located at the corner of Cardigan Street and Gopsal Street in an urban landscape setting adjacent to a shared central courtyard, 6 Cardigan Street consists of a single office building arranged over ground, plus three upper floors. The building was let to BCU in May 2016 for management offices and named the Joseph Priestley Building.
